What we offer.

Five years, four gates

Year 1 foundations; Year 2 perioperative and critical care; Years 3 and 4 operative training in bellwether procedures; Year 5 supervised independent practice. Open to nurses, midwives, clinical officers and anesthesia technicians; physicians may enter at Year 2 or 3.

Partner hospitals

F.J. Grant Memorial Hospital in Greenville, Liberia, and the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital in Banjul, The Gambia, with Columbia and Laurel, Maryland as home base and a campus planned in Nigeria.

Global Surgery Academic Scholars

Five tracks: clinical research, health systems, surgical education, data and registry, and policy and financing. Five hours a week for at least three months.
